A 4km (return) Memory Route is what’s on offer here. An easy and appealing route which, starting out from the Andra Mari church in Urduliz, climbs up to the peaks of Santa Marina. Here we can discover the valuable defensive heritage sites, which have recently been excavated and their value recognised, before returning to the starting point. The beautiful panoramic view is a surprise, showing its strategic location during the Spanish Civil War. It is well worth the challenge of climbing the slope and remembering the history hidden in this place, the memory of the people of Urduliz, who were fated to suffer the injustice of war.
